I grew up in Arvada Colorado and graduated from Arvada High in 1975. While I was working during the late 70’s as an FAA licensed aircraft “Lead Technician” and later as “Chief Inspector” I met Joel Cox. Joel had a Subaru shop in Denver and was developing a conversion kit to install Subaru engines into small aircraft. In 1981 Joel gave me the business in lieu of some back wages he owed me. This is something I had never asked for or expected. I moved the business later that year to Boulder with one other employee, because even back then Subaru was a household name. In 1984 I bought 1.3 acres of industrial land on Yarmouth Ave (our current location) and built a 10,000 sq. ft. shop there. In 1994 I built an additional 9000 sq. ft. shop. It has been a slow and steady growth throughout the years. My wife is Debbie Chambers and she is the CFO of Super Rupair. My son Bryon is 29 years old and is currently working as a Toyota Hybrid technician. We travel too much to enjoy pets. My dream car, hmmmm? It would probably be a 1930’s Rolls Royce sitting on late model running gear powered by a 426 Hemi. Of course it would have dual four barrel carbs on the top of an 871 blower sticking through the hood. My hobbies would be traveling (preferably by motorcycle), and goofing off. I would be ok with Mexican food 7 days a week, and Sushi appetizers. Music: God bless Johnny Cash, Bob Seger is really cool and Billy Idol makes me want to run out and buy a larger amp!
